Coach Butler is currently in his 12th year of coaching at Monticello High School.  He recently finished up his 9th season as head boys track coach, and took over as the head boys and girls cross country coach for the Sages 7 years ago. 

 

Sages Accomplishments include:

 

-6 all-staters in cross country

 

-2 top five team finishes at state in boys cross country (2005 & 2009)

 

-7 sectional track titles (2003-2008, 2010)

 

-7 straight Okaw Valley conference track titles (2002-2008)

 

-IHSA Track State Medalists - 11 Relays, 8 Individuals

 

-IHSA Class A state record 4x800 meter relay team in 2006
